KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 21): Pantech Global Bhd’s (KL:PGLOBAL) reported a 89.5% jump in second-quarter net profit on the back of higher sales volume and improved average selling prices.

Net profit for the three months ended Aug 31, 2026 (2QFY2027) surged to RM19.33 million from RM10.2 million a year earlier.

Revenue rose 36.88% to RM173.71 million from RM126.9 million in the corresponding quarter last year, according to the group’s Bursa Malaysia filing on Tuesday.

“The improvement in profitability was supported by the group’s ability to factor the impact of tariffs, higher raw material costs and rising energy costs into selling prices, complemented by a more favourable product mix and improved operating leverage,” it said.

The board also declared a first interim single-tier dividend of 2.2 sen per share – higher than two sen dividend paid a year ago – payable on Dec 16.

For the first half of FY2027, the group’s net profit rose 60.58% to RM35.69 million from RM22.23 million a year earlier, while revenue increased 32.02% to RM333.39 million from RM252.53 million.

The group attributed the improvement in 1HFY2027 to economies of scale from higher sales volume, a more favourable product mix and more stable foreign exchange rates.

Its pricing measures also helped mitigate the impact of tariffs and higher raw material and energy costs, it added.

Pantech Global manufactures and exports carbon steel and stainless steel butt-weld pipe fittings, as well as stainless steel welded pipes.

Pantech Global expects stronger performance in the second half of FY2027 compared with the first half.

The group said it would focus on sustaining business momentum in the second half of FY2027. Demand across its key end-user industries is expected to remain resilient, supported by ongoing industrial activities and infrastructure investments.

It also said it would maintain pricing discipline and focus on operating efficiency and cost management to support profitability.

The group said it remains mindful of uncertainties from geopolitical developments, evolving trade policies and fluctuations in raw material prices.

Pantech Global ended Wednesady unchanged at 66 sen, valuing the company at RM561 million ahead of the results announcement on Wednesday.
