KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 20): Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd founder Datuk Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah has been placed on an Interpol Red Notice to help locate and arrest him.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday that the authorities have continued to investigate other transactions involving Abdul Karim and questioned the lack of prosecution in major corporate cases before his administration took office.
“The case was closed, and everyone remained silent,” he said.
Abdul Karim, who is currently at large, was also the subject of an arrest warrant obtained by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). He is wanted for an offence under Section 369(b)(B) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007.
He was previously charged in 2021 in connection with an allegedly false statement involving Serba Dinamik’s financial information.
The Sarawak-based oil and gas services firm and three other executives were also charged in December 2021, though the charges were withdrawn in May 2022 after the company and executives agreed to pay a compound to settle their case.
Anwar said investigation by the SC, under the current administration, has led to charges against Abdul Karim and another individual in early 2026 over transactions and alleged false statements involving Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (KL:SCIB).
A person’s position, wealth or influence did not exempt them from legal action, he said.
“Our position is firm: there will be no compromise on corporate crime,” he stressed. “The capital market must operate in an orderly manner, and investors must be protected.”
