KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 20): National shuttler Lee Zii Jia and his family members have settled an ongoing court tussle involving his company LZJ Management Sdn Bhd.

Zii Jia, along with respondents named in the suit, recorded a settlement order before High Court judge Leong Wai Hong on Tuesday following successful mediation.

LZJ Management, his father Lee Chee Hin, 59, sister Lee  Zii Yii, 30, and his younger brother Lee Tao, 25, were the respondents named in Zii Jia's suit that he had filed in July this year.

Among the terms of the settlement include that LZJ Management is to hold a extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on Oct 31, and that the company is to bear the cost of the meeting.

In the interim, Zii Jia's father, sister, and brother cannot approve any director fees, allowances, or bonuses, except for their monthly salary from the company.

They are also barred from, among others, approving any company resolution involving the appointment and removal of directors, shareholder structure, and making any material decisions that affect the control of the company without permission from the court.

Zii Jia, 28, had filed the suit to call for an EGM. In his application, Zii Jia said that he had taken steps to hold an EGM but failed to do so, and that court intervention was necessary as his company is currently in a state of management and administrative deadlock.

Zii Jia, his father, and brother were present during Tuesday's proceeding, while his sister was absent as she was overseas.

When asked by the judge if they understood the terms of the consent judgement and if they agreed to it, all parties answered in the affirmative.

Lawyer Ahmad Zayd Ahmad Zuber of Faisal & Zayd appeared for Zii Jia, while lawyers Samantha Cheng of Tee Bee Kim & Partners appeared for the company, and Adrian Ng of YC Pang, Chong & Gordon appeared for Zii Jia's father, sister, and brother.
