KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 15): Zetrix AI Bhd (KL:ZETRIX) on Thursday confirmed it is under police investigation following a Bursa Malaysia query about a news report on the probe.

In a brief statement filed with the bourse, the company said its operations remained unaffected by the ongoing investigation.

It also pledged to cooperate fully with the authorities and said it would communicate any material developments through official announcements.

On Tuesday, the police announced that they had initiated a formal investigation into allegations that the group and its associate, MyEG Services Bhd, had failed to remit RM230.9 million in government collections, following a complaint received on Oct 7.

The case is being investigated under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which covers criminal breach of trust.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa reportedly said on Tuesday that the police had recorded statements from six witnesses and seized relevant corporate documents for examination. Several other individuals would also be summoned to assist in the investigation.

On Oct 8, Zetrix confirmed that it owed the Road Transport Department (JPJ) RM314 million in collections that had yet to be remitted between May and September 2026. The company said the liability had been recognised as a payable in its balance sheet, in response to Bursa Malaysia's demand for a direct answer on the exact amount of arrears.

Earlier, the company said it was in the process of finalising the outstanding amount without specifying the figure.

Zetrix shares rose half a sen, or 9.09%, to six sen at Thursday's midday break, valuing the company at RM484.7 million. The stock has fallen by more than 90% year to date.
