KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 14): Bus Cap Bhd’s (KL:BUSCAP) share price jumped 22.61% on Wednesday, triggering an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia Securities.

The regulator asked the bus manufacturer, which was listed in June this year, to clarify whether any unannounced corporate developments, market rumours or other factors could explain the price increase, according to its filing with the bourse.

It also asked the company to confirm whether it had complied with Bursa Malaysia’s disclosure requirements.

The company’s shares reached a high of RM1.26 apiece during trading before paring some gains to close at RM1.22. About nine million shares changed hands, placing the stock among the top gainers but not the most actively traded counters.

Since listing at 23 sen a share, the company’s market capitalisation has more than tripled in five months to RM467.7 million.

NCS Consolidated Holding Sdn Bhd, the private investment vehicle of managing director Ng Chai Sing and his family, holds a 67% stake in the company.

Bus Cap reported a net profit of RM4.6 million on revenue of RM46.23 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026, supported by higher sales of semi-high-deck and single-deck buses.
