KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 14): Newly listed EcoSys (Malaysia) Bhd (KL:ECOSYS) plans to nearly double its cleanroom capacity by the end of this year to meet growing demand from existing and new customers.

Managing director Chan Chee Wei said the expansion would ease capacity constraints in its ultra-high purity (UHP) business, which has been operating at full capacity for more than a year.

"Our cleanroom size will almost double. Hopefully, the whole project will be completed by the end of this year," he told reporters at a press conference following the company's ACE Market debut on Wednesday.

A cleanroom is a controlled space kept free of dust and contaminants for sensitive manufacturing processes.

Chan said the expansion would allow EcoSys to take on more orders from existing customers while preparing to serve new ones.

"Previously, our cleanroom was one of our bottlenecks. We have been running at full capacity for more than a year," he said.

The company is also expanding its assembly and testing capacity for its abatement systems business, which makes equipment to treat harmful gases produced during semiconductor and solar panel manufacturing.

Chan said the expansion would help prepare the group for demand expected next year.

EcoSys has also seen encouraging demand from new customers, particularly in its abatement business, with nearly half of its orders each quarter this year coming from new customers.

"We are seeing that as a positive trend," he said.

The group is also working with existing customers to develop new solutions and technologies, which could be introduced as early as the first half of 2027.

On EcoSys' strong listing debut, Chan said the company is focused on delivering stronger results rather than short-term share price movements.

The stock opened at 70 sen on Wednesday, a 159.3% premium to its initial public offering (IPO) price of 27 sen, valuing the company at approximately RM400 million.

"For us, it is more responsibility on our shoulders to deliver stronger results to all the shareholders," he said.

EcoSys raised RM39.34 million from its IPO, with RM17 million earmarked for expanding its abatement systems business and RM8 million for repaying bank borrowings.
