PUTRAJAYA (Oct 13): My Digital ID Sdn Bhd clarified that its digital identity platform is not powered by any third-party blockchain technology as recently published in a media article.
"My Digital ID Sdn Bhd is a company owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc) and is placed under the Prime Minister’s Department, with oversight by the National Security Council and monitoring by the National Cyber Security Agency," it said in a statement Tuesday.
It said MyDigital ID has registered 83% of Malaysia’s digitally active population, connecting over 14 million Malaysians to more than 1,000 services across 204 applications.
MyDigital ID is a secure and trusted digital identity platform designed to strengthen and simplify online identity verification, without replacing the MyKad system.
“It serves as a single sign-on solution for digital services, offering greater security and accessibility for Malaysians in accessing online services and carrying out transactions.
“MyDigital ID does not store any personal data, nor does it replace MyKad for identification purposes,” it added.
MyDigital ID app can be downloaded from major app stores: Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery.
