KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 12): Medical technology solutions provider LAC Med Bhd (KL:LACMED) has secured a seven-year contract worth up to RM20 million to supply medical imaging equipment and related services to an upcoming specialist healthcare centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The contract was awarded by Health Capitol Specialist Centre Sdn Bhd to LAC Med's wholly-owned subsidiary LAC Medical Supplies Sdn Bhd (LMS) under a master services agreement signed on Saturday, according to a bourse filing on Monday.
Under the agreement, LMS will supply, install, test and commission medical equipment, alongside providing maintenance, technical support and other related services throughout the contract period.
The agreement will run for 84 months from the respective commencement dates of equipment supply, with an option to renew for another seven years upon mutual agreement.
However, the contract is subject to several conditions, including Health Capitol obtaining regulatory approvals and licences to operate its ambulatory care centre, completion of the facility and satisfactory credit assessments.
Health Capitol's upcoming ambulatory care centre will occupy four levels spanning more than 160,000 sq ft at The Capitol development in Petaling Jaya, offering specialist consultations, diagnostic imaging, ambulatory procedures and day surgery.
The medical imaging equipment to be deployed includes the Spectral CT 7500, a computed tomography (CT) system that captures additional spectral information during scans, allowing clinicians to conduct further diagnostic analysis without necessarily requiring repeat scans.
According to LAC Med, Health Capitol is expected to become the first private healthcare facility in Malaysia to deploy the technology.
Other equipment covered under the arrangement includes a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system designed to operate with minimal helium, alongside X-ray, echocardiography and ultrasound systems.
LAC Med group chief executive officer Liew Yoon Poh said the contract marked a shift towards providing integrated medical technology solutions under long-term service arrangements.
"The strategy goes beyond providing only medical equipment, it combines comprehensive solutions together with technologies, systems integration, clinical applications, training and lifecycle support into one integrated solution – capabilities LAC Med has built over more than two decades ," he said.
"For LAC Med, this partnership demonstrates what being an integrated MedTech solutions provider means in practice. It extends our role beyond the initial deployment of technology, builds recurring revenue over the contract lifecycle, and provides an important reference as we scale our business model with other healthcare providers," Liew added.
The group said its order book stood at RM230.5 million as at Sept 30, with recurring income from related products and services accounting for 59.8% of the total.
In June, LAC Med secured a four-year contract worth up to RM78.9 million to supply reagents and consumables for pathology chemistry tests to 10 government hospitals in Kedah.
LAC Med, established in 2004, supplies medical equipment and integrated healthcare solutions to public and private healthcare providers, with an installed base of more than 2,600 medical technology systems serving over 300 clients nationwide.
The group was listed on Bursa Malaysia's Main Market on Dec 10, 2025, at an initial public offering price of 75 sen per share.
On Monday, LAC Med shares slipped 0.5 sen or 0.72% to close at 69 sen, valuing the company at RM276 million. The counter has declined six sen or 8% from its IPO price.
