KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 12): Power distribution outfit Swift Energy Technology Bhd (KL:SET) said it has secured a contract to engineer and supply a 11kV substation for a gas compression plant in Johor, marking its first engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) project.
The contract, secured by subsidiary Swift Energy Sdn Bhd from an undisclosed integrated oil and gas company, is part of a series of purchase orders with a cumulative value of RM59.07 million, Swift Energy said in a release on Monday.
The project is expected to be completed within 21 months from the Letter of Award, Swift Energy said.
In a statement, Swift Energy said it has secured various other purchase orders related to electrical equipment and systems related to data centres across Malaysia and Thailand, including a solar power system project and one other oil and gas project.
“The orders from Malaysia and Thailand show that demand for our products in the data centre space continues to build. We will continue to focus on executing our projects effectively, maintaining delivery standards and pursuing opportunities that are aligned with our engineering capabilities and long-term growth objectives,” said chief executive director of Swift Energy Tan Bin Chee.
Swift Energy’s shares closed on Monday with a 2.04% decrease at 24 sen per share and a market capitalisation of RM240.2 million.
