KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): NuEnergy Holdings Bhd (KL:NHB) has secured a RM10.1 million contract to build interconnection facilities for a 120-megawatt power plant in Labuan, expanding its presence in high-voltage power infrastructure.

The renewable energy group accepted a letter of award (LOA) from KAB Energy Holdings for the Sabah Electricity interconnection facilities and associated infrastructure for the plant, which is owned by Rancha Power. The project is targeted for completion in the third quarter of 2027, NuEnergy said in a bourse filing on Friday.

The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings, order book, revenue and profitability.

NuEnergy said the project marks a strategic expansion into the extra high voltage (EHV) and interconnection facility (IF) segment.

"Successful execution of the LOA will validate the group's technical capability and execution capacity in delivering complex EHV and IF infrastructure projects. This will position NuEnergy to pursue larger-scale transmission, power infrastructure and other high-voltage projects," it added.

NuEnergy shares rose two sen or 1.56% to close at RM1.30 on Friday, valuing the company at RM253.53 million. The stock has gained 109.68% year to date.
