KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): The government will increase total loan facilities and financing guarantees to RM57 billion in 2027, from RM50 billion this year, to support businesses and strengthen access to financing.

Under the proposed Budget 2027, Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan (SJPP) and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC) will provide up to RM32 billion in financing guarantees next year.

The coverage of SJPP will be expanded to medium-sized companies across all sectors, with its guarantee limit raised to RM50 million. 

In addition, RM1 billion in SJPP guarantees will be earmarked to support local companies seeking to expand through mergers and acquisitions (M&A). 

BNM doubles financing facility for SMEs affected by West Asia conflict

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) will increase its financing facility for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) affected by the conflict in West Asia to RM10 billion, following strong demand for the initial RM5 billion facility. 

Meanwhile, the BPMB Group (Kumpulan Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd) will allocate RM7 billion across seven strategic sectors to support high-impact industries and key economic sectors, including renewable energy, logistics, aerospace and semiconductors.
