KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): PTT Synergy Group Bhd (KL:PTT) and Koperasi Kakitangan Bank Rakyat Bhd (Sekatarakyat) marked the groundbreaking of the Sekata E-Logistics Park in Pontian, Johor, according to a press statement issued on Oct 8.
The development will comprise five single-storey industrial warehouse units, designed to offer an efficient, flexible and technology-ready logistics environment, aligned with PTT Space vision for modern industrial and intralogistics infrastructure.
The facilities will incorporate practical sustainability and future-ready features, including rainwater harvesting systems and electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities, supporting more efficient resource use and the evolving needs of modern logistics operations.
"A groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of an investment becoming a real economic asset, one that supports businesses, enables economic activity and creates long-term value," PTT Synergy Group Bhd executive chairman Datuk Abd Rahim Jaafar said.
"Southern Johor is well positioned to support businesses serving the Singapore market. By positioning inventory closer to the market, businesses can respond faster to demand and improve supply chain efficiency. Sekata E-Logistics Park provides a strategic logistics base that supports speed, flexibility and reliable connectivity, particularly for time-sensitive businesses," Abd Rahim added.
Sekatarakyat chairman Datuk Mustafha Abd Razak said the investment reflects confidence in Pontian's strategic potential.
"Pontian's strategic location within southern Johor presents an opportunity to expand its economic role and participate in the region's growing industrial and logistics activities. We hope this investment will create new business opportunities, employment and supporting economic activities for Pontian and its surrounding communities," Mustafha said.
