KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): Life Water Bhd (KL:LWSABAH) is acquiring an industrial property in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, for RM15 million to accommodate its business expansion.

The group said in a bourse filing its wholly owned subsidiary Green Borneo Industries Sdn Bhd (GBI) entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Kee Foh Haw Sdn Bhd on Wednesday, Oct 7, to acquire a 1.21-hectare parcel of land with a purpose-built office complex and ancillary workshop at KKIP Selatan, Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP).

The property, which has a built-up area of about 1,793 sq m, will be used as a warehouse. It has a 99-year lease expiring on Dec 31, 2110.

Life Water said the property’s strategic location within KKIP, where GBI currently operates its manufacturing facilities, will help improve operational efficiency and provide additional space for the group’s future expansion.

The RM15 million purchase consideration will be funded by RM2.25 million in internally generated funds and RM12.75 million in bank borrowings.

Shares of Life Water were two sen or 1.18% higher at RM1.72 at Thursday’s noon break, giving the Sabah-based bottled water manufacturer a market capitalisation of RM805.08 million.
