KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 5): West River Bhd (KL:WESTRVR) has secured a RM17.5 million subcontract for electrical, security and solar panel system works at the E-Metro Logistic Park in Bandar Bukit Raja 2, Selangor.

The subcontract was awarded by Al-Ambia Sdn Bhd to West River's wholly owned subsidiary West River Engineering Sdn Bhd, according to the group's bourse filing on Monday.

The contract covers the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical and extra-low-voltage systems, telephone services, security works and solar panel systems.

The works form part of the proposed development at Parcel Metrohub 3 (i8A) of the E-Metro Logistic Park, comprising a two-storey warehouse facility under the first phase and a two-storey ramp-up ready-built warehouse facility and ancillary building under the second phase.

The main contract commenced on March 23 and is scheduled for completion by Sept 22, 2027, while West River's subcontract works are to commence within three days from Sept 30 this year.

West River managing director Lim Yong Lai said the contract would strengthen the group's project portfolio and its track record in electrical, extra-low-voltage and energy-related infrastructure.

“We remain focused on projects that combine our technical expertise and strengthen our track record in higher-value electrical, extra-low-voltage and energy-related infrastructure, while maintaining discipline in quality, cost and delivery,” he said.

West River, which was listed on Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market in May last year, provides mechanical and electrical engineering services, including electrical engineering, air conditioning and ventilation, and intelligent building solutions.

The group's shares closed 2.5 sen or 5.95% higher at 44.5 sen on Monday, giving it a market capitalisation of about RM159.18 million.
