KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 2): Clothing designer and manufacturer EMPG Group Bhd has signed an underwriting agreement with Berjaya Securities Sdn Bhd for its planned ACE Market listing.

Berjaya Securities Sdn Bhd is to underwrite the shares offered to the Malaysian public and eligible persons through pink form allocation, said the company in a statement on Thursday. No timeline for its initial public offering (IPO) was shared.

The Klang Valley-based group designs, markets and sells apparel for men, women and children. EPGM sells its clothes through standalone retail outlets across the Klang Valley and through e-commerce platforms.

This is complemented by wholesale activities for apparel and fabric sourcing services. The group’s portfolio is made up of various brands such as Exhaust, Idexer, Silverland, Brittania, Ventine, Millward, Aplus, John River, Oxen, Elmer and MU-7.

Proceeds of the coming IPO is earmarked to accelerate the group’s expansion to open more consignment counters and boutiques across Malaysia, on top of additional working capital to support its brands, according to managing director Loh Tau Sing.
