KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 1): JLG Capital Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of JLand Group (JLG), has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Kasumigaseki Capital (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (KCMY) to explore opportunities in advanced cold-chain and automated logistics infrastructure in Malaysia, according to a statement on Oct 1.
The collaboration will evaluate potential joint ventures for the investment, development, ownership, and operation of cold logistics facilities, including frozen, chilled, temperature-controlled, and ambient-temperature storage warehouses.
Under the agreement, JLG Capital will serve as the local development platform by providing land, market access, stakeholder coordination, and financing facilitation, with potential to leverage strategic platforms such as the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone.
KCMY, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo-listed Kasumigaseki Capital Co Ltd, will bring planning, development, leasing, and operational management capabilities alongside its international partner network.
The initiative aligns with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) to drive technology adoption and support higher-value industrial activities across the real estate ecosystem.
JLG group managing director Datuk Akmal Ahmad said: “For us, the future of real estate is not only about where industries operate, but how well they can operate. This means looking beyond the physical asset and bringing together the right infrastructure, technology and expertise to help businesses become more efficient, resilient and competitive.”
“Our collaboration with Kasumigaseki Capital reflects this approach. Together, we are exploring how advanced cold-chain infrastructure can respond to the evolving needs of Malaysia’s industries, improve operational performance and support the transition towards higher-value activities.”
KCMY director and executive chairman Tomohiro Honma said: “By combining JLG Capital’s strong local market knowledge and development capabilities with Kasumigaseki Capital’s experience in advanced automated cold-storage development and operations, we see a strong foundation to explore potential projects together.”
