During the week of Sept 14 to 18, notable shareholding changes among Bursa Malaysia-listed companies included those at D&O Green Technologies Bhd (KL:D&O), where pension fund Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) ceased to be a substantial shareholder of the group, which manufactures light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for the automotive industry.
According to Bursa filings, KWAP disposed of 2.17 million D&O shares on Sept 11 on the open market, bringing its stake below the 5% threshold required to be considered a substantial shareholder. Prior to that, it held 63.49 million shares, or a 5.12% stake.
Between Sept 11 and 21, D&O’s largest shareholder Goh Nan Kioh mopped up a total of 5.39 million D&O shares through his private vehicle Rubber Thread Industries (M) Sdn Bhd on the open market. Following the acquisitions, Goh held an indirect stake of 31.19%, or 386.57 million shares, as at Sept 21.
D&O shares have fallen 26% year to date (YTD) to close at 54.5 sen last Tuesday (Sept 22), giving the company a market capitalisation of RM675.5 million.
D&O has been loss-making since the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 (3QFY2025) due to a lower gross profit margin, attributable mainly to lower production utilisation. It posted a net loss of RM84.26 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026 (1HFY2026), compared with a net profit of RM1.04 million a year earlier, as revenue fell 5.8% to RM456.98 million from RM485.07 million.
Over at power engineering firm EI Power Bhd (KL:EIPOWER), director Siew Wei Foo reduced his holdings following two recent disposals. He first sold 20 million shares on Sept 10, followed by 10 million shares the following day. Siew was one of the selling shareholders during its recent initial public offering (IPO), holding an 11.44% stake after the listing.
Following the latest disposals, Siew now owns a direct stake of 44.08 million shares, or a 6.3% stake.
EI Power shares have gained 82% YTD to close at RM1 last Tuesday, valuing the company at RM696.3 million. The counter has more than doubled from its 48 sen IPO price when it was listed on May 21.
At industrial mould manufacturer MQ Technology Bhd (KL:MQTECH), Singapore-based Triton Capital Fund VCC ceased to be a substantial shareholder on Sept 15 after disposing of 23.6 million shares via a direct business transaction. The buyer of the block was not disclosed.
The venture capital fund had previously emerged as a substantial shareholder after acquiring 30.45 million shares, or an 8.59% stake, through the subscription of redeemable convertible bonds on Sept 9.
Shares in MQ Technology are down 39% YTD, closing at 5.5 sen last Tuesday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM17.9 million.
Bursa filings for the week under review showed Carimin Petroleum Bhd (KL:CARIMIN) acquiring 23 million shares in Sealink International Bhd (KL:SEALINK) on Sept 18 via a direct business transaction. On Sept 22, Carimin acquired another 6.09 million shares in the Sarawak-based shipbuilder through a direct business transaction, bringing its stake to 126.59 million shares, or 25.32%.
The seller of the two blocks and the transaction price were not disclosed. On the transaction dates, Sealink shares closed at 31 sen (Sept 18) and 32.5 sen (Sept 22).
Sealink’s share price has fallen 3% YTD to close at 32.5 sen last Tuesday, valuing the group at RM162.5 million.
Carimin first emerged as a substantial shareholder in January this year after buying 97.5 million shares, or a 19.5% stake, from Sealink executive chairman Lo Ling in an off-market deal.
At Zetrix AI Bhd (KL:ZETRIX), Asia Internet Holdings Sdn Bhd — the private vehicle of Zetrix AI co-founder and managing director Wong Thean Soon — ceased to be a substantial shareholder after disposing of 57 million shares, or a 0.66% stake, for RM11.91 million, or 20.9 sen per share, on Sept 18. Prior to that, Asia Internet held 435.36 million shares, or a 5.53% stake.
Following the transactions, Wong now owns an indirect stake of 384.57 million shares, or 4.87%, held via Asia Internet, and his direct stake has been reduced to 488.96 million shares, or 6.19%.
Zetrix AI shares have fallen 75% YTD to settle at 20.5 sen last Tuesday, valuing the company at RM1.62 billion.
