BENGALURU (Sept 24): India's Adani Group will invest one trillion rupees (US$10.43 billion) in West Bengal by 2035, chairman Gautam Adani said on Thursday, expanding its presence across sectors ranging from power generation and logistics to data centres.

The announcement underscores the ports-to-power conglomerate's push to diversify beyond its core infrastructure businesses, with growing investments in data centres, healthcare and clean energy alongside its ports, logistics and power operations.

The investment will also support the development of roads, bridges and ropeways across the eastern state, Adani said.

Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a 2,000-bed hospital in the New Town area near Kolkata, West Bengal, Adani said the group would invest 40 billion rupees in the hospital, a medical college and a research facility.

The project is expected to create more than 10,000 jobs across the state's healthcare ecosystem.
