KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 21): Putri Norlisa Najib, the eldest daughter of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has joined CTOS Digital Bhd (KL:CTOS) as an independent non-executive director.
The 45-year-old lawyer's board appointment will take effect on Sept 25, according to a bourse filing by CTOS. She is one of three children from Najib's first marriage to Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar.
Putri Norlisa is currently the joint managing partner of Adnan Sundra & Low, a position she has held since 2023. She is also a director of the Noah Foundation, a charitable non-profit organisation established by the estate and family of the late Tan Sri Mohamed Noah Omar.
With over 20 years of experience in the legal profession, the practising lawyer regularly advises in local and cross-border banking and finance transactions involving various types of financing structure, according to CTOS. "Apart from specialising in banking and finance, she also remains active in corporate and commercial transactions which include mergers and acquisitions, joint-venture agreements, capital market transactions and on the formation of long-term incentive plans," it said.
She also advises on regulatory requirements across different industries in Malaysia, it said, adding she holds a bachelor of laws (LL.B) (Honours) and a master of laws (LL.M) (Honours) from the University of Nottingham.
Her appointment comes alongside several other boardroom changes. Nirmala Doraisamy, 59, resigned as an independent director after serving on the board since April 1, 2021, citing retirement. She was also the audit committee chairperson.
She has been replaced by Chan Siew Mei, 60, who has 40 years of experience in audit, accounting and consulting. Her past roles include as the head of advisory and chief financial officer at KPMG Malaysia. Chan is also an independent director of AMMB Holdings Bhd (KL:AMBANK).
In July this year, CTOS appointed Creador founder and chief executive officer Brahmal Vasudevan, 57, as its non-executive chairman.
CTOS' share price was up 2.42% to RM63.5 sen a share on Monday, valuing the company at RM1.4 billion. The stock is down 19.89% year-to-date.
