KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 17): Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd (KL:ABMB) has been recognised as “Malaysia’s Best Bank for SMEs” by global financial magazine publisher Euromoney.

The bank said in a statement that the award is the latest on its list of accolades for this year.

“The recognition underscores the continued commitment to empowering Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through innovative financial solutions, digital capabilities, and beyond banking support throughout their growth journey,” Alliance Bank said.

The Euromoney awards evaluate financial institutions using comparable metrics, structured submissions and a transparent research process.

The annual programme spans over 100 countries, handing out roughly 20 global titles alongside more than 50 regional and national awards across sectors — including retail banking, investment banking, SME solutions, digital innovation and ESG frameworks.

Alliance Bank's suite of banking services include business loans, trade financing, cash management and digital solutions tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs and growing companies.

In June this year, Alliance Bank announced a portfolio guarantee agreement with Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd to support SMEs.

The initiative will see the bank providing up to RM2 billion in financing for SMEs' working capital and business expansion.

The bank also provides retail and corporate banking services, wealth management and digital banking innovations to individual and institutional clients.

As at market close on Thursday, Alliance Bank shares were down two sen or 0.41% at RM4.85, valuing the group at RM8.39 billion.
