KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 15): Poh Huat Resources Holdings Bhd (KL:POHUAT) posted a higher net profit of RM2.30 million for its third financial quarter compared with RM261,664 a year earlier, driven mainly by a higher net foreign exchange gain.
The home and office furniture manufacturer saw a net forex gain of RM2.05 million in the quarter ended July 31, 2026 (3QFY2026), against a net forex loss of RM1.03 million previously.
Revenue fell 8.1% to RM85.64 million from RM93.18 million, with sales from Vietnam operations declining 17.5% to RM35.61 million, reflecting softer US export demand and buyers diverting some orders to alternative sourcing countries, the company said in its bourse filing on Tuesday.
Revenue from Malaysia operations was stable at RM50.03 million, aided by a recovery in order intake after a weak first half.
For the first nine months of FY2026, Poh Huat recorded a net loss of RM12.92 million versus a net profit of RM10.32 million in the previous corresponding period, as revenue fell RM26.9% to RM239.62 million from RM327.76 million.
With its return to profitability, Poh Huat said it expects the improved operating momentum to continue into the restocking season ahead of the year-end holiday period in the US. The company sells its products to the US from its manufacturing plants in Malaysia and Vietnam.
The company declared a second interim dividend of one sen per share, payable on Oct 16, bringing its dividend payout to three sen so far in FY2026 against six sen previously.
Poh Huat shares closed unchanged at 62 sen on Tuesday, valuing the company at RM171.2 million.
