KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 15): Crest Builder Holdings Bhd (KL:CRESBLD) said its unit has won a mechanical and electrical (M&E) subcontract worth RM56.88 million from a unit of construction company Pesona Metro Holdings Bhd (KL:PESONA).

In a statement, Crest Builder said a letter of award was given to its engineering unit CBTech (M) Sdn Bhd from Pesona Metro Sdn Bhd, which is the main contractor for the project. 

Under the subcontract, CBTech will supply, deliver, install, test, commission and maintain electrical services for the retail mall and Office Tower 1 components of the Ativo Annexe development in Bandar Sri Damansara, Selangor.

The Ativo Annexe development is being developed by TA Global Bhd.

Works began on Sept 1 and are expected to run until March 17, 2028, which is a duration of 18 and a half months. 

Crest Builder said this new contract win brings their M&E outstanding order book to about RM250 million, which brings their total outstanding order book to an estimated RM1.9 billion.

With that, Crest Builder said the updated order book value provides earnings visibility for the next three years. 

“The latest contract secured by CBTech marks another important step in the group’s strategy to broaden our earnings base beyond our traditional construction activities. We see M&E as a natural extension of our existing capabilities and an area where Crest Builder can progressively build greater scale,” said group managing director Eric Yong in the statement.

The company reported an almost 8% rise in net profit to RM2.84 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 on better progress with projects at its construction and property development business. Revenue was up almost 84% to RM259.2 million for the quarter from a year ago. 

Shares of Crest Builder were flat at 44 sen on Tuesday’s noon break, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM99 million. Meanwhile, shares of Pesona Metro were down by half a sen or 1% to 48 sen, which valued it at RM333.6 million.
