KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 14): CIMB Bank Bhd has won three awards from global financial magazine publisher Euromoney.

In a statement on Monday, Malaysia’s second-largest banking group by assets said it was recognised alongside its investment arm, CIMB Investment Bank, at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, taking home the titles of “Malaysia’s Best Retail Bank”, “Malaysia’s Best Digital Bank for SMEs”, and “Malaysia’s Best Investment Bank”.

“These recognitions are a testament to the trust of our customers and the dedication of our teams across the bank,” CIMB Group Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) group chief executive officer Novan Amirudin said.

“They reaffirm CIMB’s purpose of advancing customers and society by making financial solutions more accessible, relevant and impactful for the people and businesses we serve,” he added.

CIMB attributed the wins to its innovative, digital and expert financial solutions across its retail, small and medium enterprise (SME), and investment banking businesses.

The Euromoney awards evaluate financial institutions  using comparable metrics, structured submissions and a transparent research process.

CIMB Bank advanced its retail banking revenue and earnings by growing market share across key loan and deposit segments, alongside continuing its progress in digital sales and customer cross-selling.

For SMEs, CIMB Bank expanded its digital banking services via CIMB Octo Biz, an end-to-end digital transaction and cash-flow platform with more than 280,000 customers to date.

The bank has also expanded financing access for businesses with uneven cash flows,  through through the TNG eWallet and SME FlexiCash. The latter uses transaction history and account behavior to determine pre-qualified credit limits and links repayments to a proportion of revenue.

Through its investment arm, the group reinforced its wholesale leadership by securing the first ranking in both Malaysian and Asean equity and debt capital markets by deal value in 2025.
