KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Industrial construction and automated logistics company PTT Synergy Group Bhd (KL:PTT) is acquiring a 3.925-hectare parcel of freehold land in Penang for RM62.53 million in cash.

Its wholly owned subsidiary PTT Logistics Hub 3 Sdn Bhd has entered into a sale and purchase agreement with an individual, Lee Mooi Khean, to acquire the land, located at Lot 1597, Mukim 12, in the district of Seberang Perai Selatan.

In a bourse filing on Friday, PTT Synergy said the land will be held as an investment property, with potential for future development in line with the group’s business expansion plans.

“By securing the land for future development and operational requirements, the proposed acquisition is expected to strengthen the company’s asset base and facilitate the continued growth and expansion of its business over the medium to long term,” it said.

The acquisition will be funded through a combination of internally generated funds and bank borrowings, and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2027.

Shares in PTT Synergy closed one sen or 0.71% lower at RM1.39 on Friday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM663.54 million.
