KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Newly listed GTA Holdings Bhd (KL:GTA) is expanding its aviation support business into Brunei after securing an authorised distributorship from Safran Helicopter Engines Asia.

GTA said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd has formalised a distributor agreement with Safran, allowing it to market and support selected Safran helicopter engine products in Brunei.

The agreement follows a memorandum of understanding signed by the two parties in July to expand their collaboration beyond Malaysia.

GTA managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Nonee Ashirin Mohd Radzi said the appointment reflected Safran’s confidence in the company following years of collaboration.

“It is a testament to our team's technical capabilities, operational standards and commitment to supporting customers across the region.”

GTA, through its subsidiary, provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for helicopter and fixed-wing engines, parts and components from its base at the Helicopter Centre at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.

Safran Helicopter Engines Asia is the regional hub of Singapore-based Safran Helicopter Engines. The
company supports more than 200 operators and over 1,100 helicopter engines across 19 countries in Asia.

GTA made its debut on the ACE Market on Tuesday. At 4.05pm on Friday, shares of GTA were up three sen or 9.1% at 36 sen, valuing the group at RM464.9 million.
