KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 8): TRC Synergy Bhd (KL:TRC) said on Tuesday it has secured a subcontract worth RM149.98 million from Gamuda Bhd’s (KL:GAMUDA) engineering arm for underground services works at a hyperscale data centre.
In a bourse filing, the construction outfit said the contract, awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary TRC Construction Sdn Bhd by Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd, commenced on Aug 14 and is scheduled for completion by Nov 25.
The company said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets per share throughout the contract period.
This is the second contract secured by TRC Synergy since the beginning of the year. In January, the company secured a RM249 million contract to build new complex buildings in Precinct 5, Putrajaya.
The project was secured through its wholly owned subsidiary Trans Resources Corporation Sdn Bhd from Gilang Cendana Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, the master developer of Putrajaya.
In December last year, TRC Synergy also secured a RM550.8 million contract from SRS Consortium Sdn Bhd, a joint venture led by Gamuda, for works related to the Penang Light Rail Transit (LRT) Mutiara Line project.
In its latest financial statement for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, TRC Synergy said it had participated in more than RM3.7 billion worth of tenders over the past two quarters as it sought to replenish its RM1.2 billion order book.
The tenders include packages for the Mutiara LRT, data centres, government complexes, schools and other infrastructure projects. The group said it is confident of securing some of these projects by the end of 2026.
Shares of TRC Synergy settled unchanged at 26.5 sen on Tuesday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM127.3 million.
