KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 7): Construction firm Vestland Bhd (KL:VLB) has bagged a RM263.73 million contract for flood mitigation works along Sungai Golok in Kelantan, bringing its contracts wins for this year past RM1 billion.

In a bourse filing, Vestland said its wholly owned subsidiary Vestland Infra Sdn Bhd had accepted a letter of award from Johnson Fluid Engineering Sdn Bhd for the construction of a dual-function sheet pile wall and bridge works along the river.

The company said work is scheduled to start on Sept 21 this year, and is expected to be completed by April 14, 2028.

This is Vestland’s sixth contract win for the year, bringing the total to RM1.1 billion.  Its total outstanding order book is now RM1.5 billion.

In a statement, Vestland joint managing director Datuk Liew Foo Heen said the contract strengthens the group's expansion into flood mitigation and infrastructure development.

“We are committed to delivering this project successfully and contributing our efforts to address the long-standing flooding issues in the region,” Liew said.

Shares of Vestland ended 1.5 sen or 1.6% lower at 92 sen on Monday, giving the ACE Market-listed company a market capitalisation of RM868.8 million. The stock has risen more than 116% year to date.
