KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 4): Aumas Resources Bhd (KL:AUMAS) has reported a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 110,000 ounces of contained gold for its Andrassy gold project in Tawau, Sabah.

The project is held through Aumas Resources' wholly-owned subsidiary, Wullersdorf Resources Sdn Bhd, under an exclusive prospecting and contract of work agreement with the  prospecting licence holder Aurelius Borneo Mining Sdn Bhd.

The licence covers an area of about 18,000 hectares and is valid until July 12, 2027, following a one-year renewal, said Aumas Resources in a bourse filing on Friday.

The maiden mineral resources estimate covers Block 1, comprising the Bukit Jantung and Bukit Ketupat prospects. Of the total 110,000 ounces of gold, 45,000 ounces are contained in resources at Bukit Jantung, while the remaining 64,500 ounces are from Bukit Ketupat.

From 2024 to 2026, Wullersdorf conducted geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys and trenching across the wider Andrassy licence area, as well as reverse-circulation and diamond drilling at the Bukit Jantung and Bukit Ketupat prospects.

Apart from the Andrassy gold project, Aumas Resources operates the Bukit Mantri gold mine. The mine is located on a 317.7-hectare site in the remote area of Balung, Tawau, with the land lease secured until Dec 31, 2048, according to its 2025 annual report.

Aumas Resources was formerly known as Bahvest Resources Bhd and Borneo Aqua Harvest Bhd. Its share price closed up 1.35% or half a sen to 37.5 sen on Friday, giving the gold miner a market capitalisation of RM683 million. Year to date, the stock has fallen 35% from 58 sen.
