KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 3): UOB Malaysia raised RM2.29 million during two months of events and programmes that  culminated at the annual Heartbeat Run 2026 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil on Aug 15.

In a statement on Thursday, UOB Malaysia said the funds raised at the 18th edition of the annual charity run will support more than 6,000 children, youths and families nationwide, with a focus on arts, digital education and food security.

“The generosity and commitment of our people, customers and partners enable us to support programmes led by our beneficiary partners that address critical community needs,” UOB Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Ng Wei Wei said.

“As part of the wider UOB Heartbeat movement across Asean and beyond, we remain committed to creating a meaningful and lasting impact in the communities we serve,” he added.

About 5,000 employees, customers and partners gathered at  Pavilion Bukit Jalil on Aug 15 to volunteer, fundraise and participate in the run.

UOB Malaysia said the key beneficiaries of the funds would be SOLS Foundation, PINTAR Foundation, Food Aid Foundation and HOPE Worldwide Malaysia.

Among charitable initiatives include  sponsoring 50 underprivileged youths to enrol at the Solar Academy vocational programme, providing solar systems to off-grid communities and installing solar panels at children’s welfare homes.

“Beyond UOB Heartbeat, the bank continues to invest in programmes that create long-term social impact, particularly in education and digital inclusion,” UOB Malaysia said.
