KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 1): Dialog Group Bhd (KL:DIALOG) has secured a contract to expand crude oil storage tanks facility Pulau Bukom in Singapore.

Singapore-based PEC Pte Ltd also got a contract from Aster, part of Indonesia’s Chandra Asri Group, to upgrade the facility by more than 1.3 million barrels, according to a joint statement on Tuesday. Financial details and job scopes of the contracts were not disclosed.

PEC specialises in plant and terminal engineering in Singapore while Dialog owns and operates midstream terminals across the region and both were picked after a competitive process, Aster said.

“We have a unique infrastructure position in Singapore, built over more than 60 years, and we intend to unlock its full potential,” said Aster deputy CEO Andre Khor.

The upgrade marks the first major investment following the official launch of Aster Port & Terminals — its new storage and logistics business comprising 13 marine wharves across Pulau Bukom and Pulau Ular and up to 4.3 million cubic metres of tank storage capacity.

Aster operates a portfolio of industrial businesses across Southeast Asia that also includes petrochemicals, utilities and specialty chemicals.

“We are proud to support Aster Port & Terminals in rejuvenating its tank infrastructure and, in doing so, unlocking additional storage capacity,” said Bryan Tan, managing director of engineering, construction and maintenance at Dialog.
