KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 28): EG Industries Bhd (KL:EG) posted a record RM1.43 billion in revenue for the financial year ended June 30, 2026 (FY2026), a 31.3% year-on-year gain driven by higher sales of 800G optical modules, wireless broadband products and network switches.

Net profit attributable to owners jumped 52% to RM127.79 million. The strong bottom-line growth was driven by a richer mix of higher-margin technology products, plus a RM20.45 million one-off bargain-purchase gain from the purchase price allocation of N.D. Rubber Public Company Ltd, which together lifted profitability faster than sales.

Fourth-quarter (4QFY2026) revenue jumped 283.4% to RM402.07 million, and net profit attributable to owners more than doubled to RM45.87 million, a bourse filing showed.

Growth was driven by higher contributions from 800G optical modules, wireless broadband-related products and network switches. Improved production yields and a more favourable product mix also allowed it to absorb fixed costs better.

Group chief executive officer Datuk Alex Kang Pang Kiang said the results demonstrate that the group’s transformation is delivering results.

The group is optimistic about its future earnings, citing a US$241.6 million purchase order for 800G optical modules and wireless broadband products, alongside an approximately US$100 million letter of intent with a United States-based provider for open network switches.

EG industries is also expanding the second floor of its Batu Kawan facility, meant to lift capacity for 800G and next-generation 1.6T optical modules. The group’s new Prachinburi plant in Thailand is on track for completion before the year’s end.

No dividend was declared for the quarter.

At the close of the market on Friday, EG Industries stock rose one sen, or 0.5%, to RM1.96, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.86 billion.
