KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 28): Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd’s (KL:KERJAYA) net profit rose 22.5% in the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2QFY2026), despite lower revenue, thanks to lower tax expenses.
The construction and property development group’s net profit for the quarter stood at RM66.7 million, or 5.32 sen per share, compared with RM54.4 million, or 4.33 sen per share, a year earlier, according to its bourse filing on Friday.
It declared an interim dividend of 3.5 sen per share, up from three sen a year earlier, payable on Sept 29.
Revenue fell 25% to RM403.1 million from RM539.5 million, dragged by lower progress in construction activities.
Revenue from the construction segment fell nearly 29% year-on-year to RM431 million, while revenue from the property development segment declined 31% to RM47.4 million.
For the six months ended Dec 31, Kerjaya Prospek’s net profit rose 23% to RM124 million from RM100.5 million a year earlier, while revenue declined 16% to RM849.9 million from RM1.01 billion.
As at end-June, the group’s outstanding construction order book stood at RM5 billion.
Moving forward, the group expects its construction segment to remain its main revenue driver, while maintaining its manufacturing business and expanding its property development segment to complement its core construction operations.
Shares of Kerjaya Prospek slipped three sen, or 1%, to RM2.86 ahead of the results announcement on Friday, valuing the group at RM3.62 billion.
