KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 28): Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA) on Friday said it has secured contracts worth a combined RM3.57 billion to build two hyperscale data centres in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the construction giant said the contracts were awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd (GESB) by a US-headquartered multinational technology company.

The scope of works covers the construction of two single-storey hyperscale data centre facilities, including site infrastructure, building core and shell construction, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) fit-out works.

The first contract is worth RM1.79 billion, while the second is valued at RM1.78 billion.

Both projects are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026. The first data centre is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2028, while the second is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The latest awards mark Gamuda’s third hyperscale data centre construction job in Port Dickson this year.

The group previously secured a RM1.72 billion contract in April and another RM1.71 billion contract earlier this month for data centre construction in the same location.

As at end-April, Gamuda’s construction order book stood at RM52 billion.

Gamuda said the latest projects are expected to contribute positively to the group’s revenue and earnings for the financial year ending July 31, 2027 and thereafter until their completion.

Gamuda shares fell 11 sen, or 2.4%, to RM4.41 after the announcement, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM26.39 billion. The stock has fallen more than 11% since the start of the year.
