<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p data-end="291" data-start="123">The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the earthquake occurred at 12.06am on Friday at coordinates 5.5 degrees North and 101.3 degrees East.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p data-end="415" data-start="293">The epicentre was located 9km&nbsp;northeast of Hulu Perak, Perak, at a depth of 10km.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p data-end="507" data-start="417">“The tremors were also felt in the Gerik area, but no tsunami threat was issued,” MetMalaysia said in a statement.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p data-end="641" data-start="509">Members of the public who felt the tremors from the earthquake are encouraged to fill out the questionnaire provided by MetMalaysia.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p data-end="694" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="" data-start="643">MetMalaysia said it will continue to monitor the situation.</p></div>
