KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 27): THMY Holdings Bhd (KL:THMY) expects demand for its advanced testing systems to remain strong, driven by growing applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, as its first-quarter net profit more than doubled on higher sales of its automated test solutions (ATS).

Net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (1QFY2027) leaped to RM6.22 million from RM3.03 million a year earlier, while revenue climbed 42.5% to RM20.23 million from RM14.20 million, according to the automated test solutions firm's bourse filing on Thursday.

Gross profit increased 59.5% to RM9.71 million from RM6.08 million, mainly due to the delivery of higher-complexity and more value-added testing solutions.

THMY said sales of its ATS rose to RM20.06 million from RM12.50 million a year earlier, accounting for more than 99% of total revenue. Of this, in-circuit test solutions contributed RM14.76 million, while functional circuit test solutions contributed RM5.30 million.

“Entering the new financial year on a positive footing, the group continues to see encouraging customer engagement and project activities across its key markets, in particular demand for advanced ATS,” the ACE Market-listed company said in the filing.

It expects momentum for advanced ATS to remain strong, supported by increasing product complexity linked to the integration of AI, cloud computing and other high-performance technologies.

THMY also expects ongoing regional supply chain diversification and manufacturing expansion within the electrical and electronics (E&E) ecosystem to support the industry.

The group said demand for its testing solutions remained strong among multi-national customers in the E&E and telecommunications, media and technology industries.

Despite prevailing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties, THMY said it remains cautiously optimistic about its outlook and will continue to focus on improving operational efficiency and strengthening its position in advanced and higher-value testing solutions.

No dividend was declared for the quarter under review.

THMY’s shares closed nine sen or 4.6% higher at RM2.06 on Thursday, valuing the group at RM1.83 billion. Year to date, the stock has more than doubled.
