KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 27): Scicom (MSC) Bhd's (KL:SCICOM) net profit tripled in the just-ended fourth quarter, driven by higher transaction volumes from business process outsourcing (BPO) projects.
The BPO business covers outsourced services such as customer management, digital and e-commerce support, and government technology solutions.
Net profit for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2026 (4QFY2026) rose to RM12.61 million from RM4.18 million a year earlier, while revenue jumped 70% to RM78.97 million from RM46.45 million.
In a bourse filing on Thursday, Scicom said the sharp rise in quarterly revenue was mainly driven by higher transaction volumes from existing BPO contracts as well as maiden contributions from new projects secured during the financial year.
For FY2026 as a whole, the group's net profit more than doubled to RM47.23 million from RM20.35 million in the previous year, while revenue climbed 52% to RM301.80 million from RM198.60 million.
Scicom said the stronger full-year performance reflected its ability to handle higher transaction volumes and newly secured projects largely using existing infrastructure, without a corresponding increase in its cost base.
The group declared a fourth interim dividend of three sen per share, amounting to RM10.66 million, payable on Sept 30. This raises total dividends for FY2026 to 12 sen per share versus 5.5 sen in the previous year.
Looking ahead to FY2027, Scicom expects a full-year contribution from projects secured in FY2026, some of which only started part-way through the year, to support further growth.
The group is also pursuing new opportunities across its customer lifecycle management and government technology businesses, while continuing to evaluate several shortlisted government-technology (GovTech) opportunities. It said, however, that the timing and size of contributions from these projects remain subject to contract awards, finalisation and implementation schedules.
Shares of Scicom closed up 40 sen or 1.8% at RM2.30 on Thursday, valuing the group at RM821.1 million.
