From Aug 10 to 14, notable filings by companies listed on Bursa Malaysia include those at Econframe Bhd (KL:EFRAME), where Chinese national Zheng Jinding, via his vehicle Newleaf United Holdings Sdn Bhd, emerged as a substantial shareholder on Aug 10 after acquiring 38.85 million shares in a direct business transaction. The purchase gave Zheng a 10.34% stake in the producer of metal doors and window frames.
The stake places Newleaf as Econframe’s second largest shareholder after managing director Lim Chin Horng, who holds 12.375% in the company.
On the same day, Datuk Hooi Jia Hao, a major shareholder, sold 8.56 million shares in the company through direct business transactions via his vehicle Sea Capital Holdings Sdn Bhd, ceasing to be a substantial shareholder.
Hooi, formerly managing director and the largest shareholder of cybersecurity firm Systech Bhd (KL:SYSTECH) until October 2025, became a substantial shareholder of Econframe in Jan 13, 2022. He had acquired 25.26 million shares in Econframe to raise his stake to a total of 31.6 million shares, or 9.7%.
Over at PUC Bhd (KL:PUC), managing director and CEO Cheong Chia Chou continued to reduce his shareholding in the loss-making digital payment solutions provider by disposing of 45 million shares via a direct business transaction on Aug 12, leaving him with 100.2 million shares, or 3.29% equity interest, in the group.
Cheong, who emerged as a substantial shareholder in the group on Dec 29, 2025, after he acquired 202.5 million shares, or 6.64% equity interest, ceased to be a substantial shareholder in PUC in March after divesting 70 million shares.
Cocoaland Bhd co-founder Liew Fook Meng remains the largest shareholder of PUC, with a 8.8% stake. Another Cocoaland co-founder Lau Pak Lam holds a 7.49% stake in the company. Genting Bhd’s (KL:GENTING) vehicle GPVF Sdn Bhd controls a 5.33% stake in PUC.
Meanwhile, ASF Eternity Sdn Bhd disposed of 30 million shares in ISF Group Bhd (KL:ISF) on Aug 4, leaving it with 571.55 million shares, or a 57.155% stake. ASF Eternity, the biggest shareholder of ISF, is controlled by ISF managing director Jeff Ai Boon Chen and executive directors Ai Siew Fuat and Lim Ay Yum.
In a note on July 20, CGS International said ISF is considered an undervalued data centre-related stock that is expected to benefit from the next wave of data centre fit-out activities, with potential for its valuation and share price to catch up with industry peers.
“We project a three-year (FY2025 to FY2028) revenue CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 19.2%, supported by an assumed 30% to 40% tender win rate, driven primarily by the data centre segment, alongside steady progress billings from industrial and residential projects,” says the research house, which has an “add” call for the stock with a target price of 80 sen.
Shares in civil engineering and renewable energy group Citaglobal Bhd (KL:CITAGLB) rose 10.6% to 94 sen last Tuesday, from 85 sen at the start of August, giving it a market capitalisation of RM519.7 million.
Dedap Rimbun Sdn Bhd started to dispose of the shares in March 31 and continued to pare down its stake with the disposal of 1.5 million shares via a direct business transaction on Aug 11, leaving it with 39.47 million shares, or a 7.139% stake.
Dedap Rimbun, the vehicle of Mutiara Perlis Sdn Bhd group executive chairman Datuk Shabaruddin Ibrahim, had emerged as a substantial shareholder with 42.105 million shares, or a 9% stake, on Dec 30, 2025. The shares were consideration for the full settlement of Citaglobal’s acquisition of 20% equity interest in Manjaran Sdn Bhd, an indirect shareholder of Mutiara Perlis, the master developer of the Perlis Maritime Corridor.
Elsewhere, Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (KL:HEKTAR) climbed 19.75% to a year-to-date high of 48.5 sen on Aug 14, from 40.5 sen on July 1.
On Aug 10, Datuk Eddie Ong Choo Meng ceased to be a substantial unitholder after offloading 7.135 million units (1.006%) on the open market on Aug 7. No price was disclosed in the company filing, with the retail REIT’s units closing at 47 sen on Aug 7.
Ong has been reducing his stake since emerging as a substantial unitholder in the REIT in December 2023.
On Aug 11, Upayapadu (M) Sdn Bhd acquired 114,300 units in Hektar REIT, bringing its total holding in the group to 100.11 million units, or 14.12%. Upayapadu, which is controlled by Datuk Seri Dr Wong Yeon Chai, has been increasing its interest in Hektar REIT in recent months.
Based on the latest Bursa filings, the largest unitholder of Hektar REIT is Hektar Black Sdn Bhd (15.76%), followed by Upayapadu.
Notably, a disagreement between unitholders had reportedly been brewing at Hektar REIT for some time over the acquisition of a string of assets linked to Kolej Yayasan Saad, which was founded by former corporate magnate Tan Sri Halim Saad.
