KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 24): Prolintas Infra Business Trust (KL:PLINTAS) reported a 13.44% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in second-quarter net profit, thanks to a sharp decline in income tax expense, while toll collections rose on higher traffic volumes across its highway network.
Net profit for the three months ended June 30, 2026 (2QFY2026), climbed to RM8.65 million, from RM7.62 million a year ago, even as revenue slipped 0.6% to RM80.30 million from RM80.75 million.
Income tax expense fell 65.9% to RM2.82 million from RM8.29 million. Highway operations revenue eased to RM80.16 million from RM80.76 million, mainly due to a RM2.5 million provision for potential revenue sharing recognised during the quarter.
Toll collections, however, increased 2.3% to RM82.20 million from RM80.37 million, supported by higher traffic volumes across the trust's four highways.
Prolintas’ portfolio comprises four operating highways. They are the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (Akleh), Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Lebuhraya Kemuning-Shah Alam (LKSA) and Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (Kajang Silk).
The trust declared a first-half distribution of 3.18 sen per unit, unchanged from last year, amounting to RM35 million or 90% of its distributable amount of RM38.72 million. The income distribution is payable on Sept 29.
For the first six months of FY2026 (1HFY2026), net profit nearly doubled to RM22.04 million from RM11.18 million a year earlier, while revenue edged up 0.75% to RM160.94 million from RM159.74 million.
In a separate statement, Prolintas Infra expressed confidence in the long-term fundamentals of the trust's assets, supported by continued urbanisation and sustained commuter demand across the Klang Valley.
The trust said it will continue to focus on enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining financial discipline and strengthening its position as a provider of sustainable long-term returns to unitholders.
Prolintas Infra units fell one sen or 1.09% to 91 sen on Monday, valuing the trust at RM1 billion. Year-to-date, the counter is down 5.2%.
