KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 21): Verdant Solar Holdings Bhd (KL:VERDANT) returned to the black in its fourth quarter, posting a net profit of RM1.53 million as higher project completions and billings more than doubled revenue from the preceding quarter.

Revenue for the three months ended June 30, 2026 (4QFY2026) jumped 128.5% quarter-on-quarter to RM20.04 million from RM8.77 million, according to its Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday.

Its engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) business accounted for RM19.54 million or 97.5% of quarterly revenue, while operations and maintenance services and solar product trading contributed the remainder.

The solar photovoltaic solutions provider had posted a net loss of RM1.98 million in the preceding quarter. No year-on-year comparison is available as the company did not prepare or announce an interim financial report for the corresponding quarter last year.

For the full FY2026, Verdant Solar recorded revenue of RM59.52 million and a net loss of RM1.87 million. Excluding RM2.62 million in one-off listing expenses, the group would have posted an adjusted pre-tax profit of RM1.01 million.

Managing director Zeth Lim said Malaysia's renewable energy market continued to offer long-term opportunities as consumers and businesses increasingly focused on energy savings, sustainability and energy resilience.

“As demand for integrated solar and energy storage solutions continues to grow, we remain focused on strengthening our market presence, enhancing customer experience and supporting the nation’s transition towards cleaner energy,” he said in a separate statement.

Looking ahead, Verdant Solar said it plans to expand its residential and commercial project pipeline while strengthening its EPCC capabilities and solar-plus-storage offerings.

Its outstanding order book stood at about RM63 million as at end-June, up RM13.2 million from the preceding quarter, providing earnings visibility for the coming quarters.

Verdant Solar was listed on Bursa Malaysia’s ACE Market in October 2025.

Shares of Verdant Solar closed half a sen or 2.4% higher at 21 sen on Friday, valuing the group at RM171.7 million.
