KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 20): MTT Shipping and Logistics Bhd (KL:MTTSL) posted a net profit of RM94.9 million on revenue of RM360.4 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026.
No year-on-year comparative figures were provided as this was the container liner operator’s first interim financial results since its listing on the Main Market in April.
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, MTT Shipping’s net profit rose 45% from RM65.7 million while revenue increased 21% from RM298.3 million, driven by higher freight income from increased freight rates and slot sales.
The company declared an interim dividend of 3.2 sen per share, payable on Sept 23.
Moving forward, MTT Shipping said the container shipping segment is expected to remain stable and resilient despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, as the company mainly operates intra-Asia routes and has so far experienced minimal disruption to its operations.
The delivery of two new chemical tankers by the end of the financial year is also expected to expand the company’s fleet capacity, broaden its service offerings and contribute positively to future earnings growth, it said.
Meanwhile, the logistics segment is expected to maintain its positive momentum, supported by improved utilisation rates, operational efficiencies and growing demand for integrated logistics solutions.
Shares of MTT Shipping ended unchanged at RM1.25 on Thursday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM3.13 billion. The counter has gained more than 21% from its initial public offering price of RM1.03.
