Notable filings

From Aug 3 to 7, notable shareholding changes at Bursa Malaysia-listed companies included those in Pavilion Real Estate Investment Trust (KL:PAVREIT). Property tycoon Tan Sri Desmond Lim Siew Choon and his wife, Puan Sri Tan Kewi Yong, transferred all their units in Pavilion REIT to their vehicle, Khuan Choo Assets Sdn Bhd.

The Lims’ holdings had been consolidated into 1.127 billion units, or a 28.699% stake, making Khuan Choo the single-largest unitholder of Pavilion REIT, ahead of Qatar Investment Authority’s Qatar Holding LLC with 21.52% equity interest.

Meanwhile, after selling a 4.62% stake in ICT service provider Dataprep Holdings Bhd (KL:DATAPRP) two weeks ago, its largest shareholder Datuk Shamshuri Abdul Majid has pared his holdings again, disposing of 16.2 million shares, or a 1.88% stake.

The latest disposal leaves Shamshuri with 9.63% equity interest, equivalent to 82.79 million shares. His stake had peaked at 16.59%, or 138.69 million shares, on May 7, 2026, after a year of steady accumulation.

Elsewhere, ownership of shares in agrochemical group Hextar Global Bhd (KL:HEXTAR) and fertiliser company Hextar Industries Bhd (KL:HEXIND) has shifted from Hextar Holdings Sdn Bhd to Datuk Eddie Ong Choo Meng. Hextar Holdings is a private investment vehicle jointly owned by Eddie, with a 64.7% stake, and his parents, Datuk Ong Soon Ho and Datin Teoh Siew Yoke @ Teoh Siew Chin, who hold 23.9% and 11.4% equity interest respectively.

In Hextar Global, Hextar Holdings disposed of 42 million shares, or a 1.07% stake, while Eddie acquired 40 million shares. Eddie now holds a 4.68% direct stake and a 50.12% indirect stake through Hextar Holdings. In Hextar Industries, Hextar Holdings disposed of 24 million shares, or a 0.9% stake, while Eddie acquired 23.31 million shares. He now holds a 3.03% direct stake and a 50.11% indirect stake through Hextar Holdings.

Over at property developer MKH Bhd (KL:MKH), the vehicle of the Chen family, Chen Choy & Sons Realty Sdn Bhd, ceased to be a substantial shareholder after selling its entire 65.88 million share stake to Whitmore Holdings Sdn Bhd via a direct business transaction.

This ultimately means that Batu Kawan Bhd’s (KL:BKAWAN) wholly-owned subsidiary Whitmore has raised its direct stake in MKH to 50.9% from 32.8%.

Following this, Batu Kawan was required to extend unconditional mandatory takeover offers for the remaining shares in MKH and MKH Oil Palm (East Kalimantan) Bhd (KL:MKHOP) not already held by Whitmore.

The offers are priced at RM2 per MKH share and 66.26 sen per MKHOP share, payable wholly in cash and subject to adjustments for any distributions declared, made or paid under the terms of the offers.

Notable movements

The semiconductor equipment maker’s shares have gained nearly 20% since the results, taking their year-to-date gain to almost 150%. Based on the counter’s last closing price of RM9.44 last Wednesday, ViTrox is now valued at nearly RM18 billion, making it the most valuable technology company on Bursa Malaysia, driven by strong demand linked to artificial intelligence and advanced computing.

Nevertheless, during the week under review, co-founder, CEO and president Datuk Chu Jenn Weng sold 10 million shares, while co-founder and senior executive vice-president Siaw Kok Tong disposed of seven million shares. Both sold their shares via off-market transactions. Meanwhile, chairman Datuk Seri Dr Kiew Kwong Sen sold 270,000 shares on the open market.
