KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): The Malaysian Engineering Exhibition and Conference 2026 (Engineer) and its concurrent exhibition, the Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration & Ventilation Expo 2026 (Marvex) are scheduled to take place from Sept 22 to 25 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

This year, the exhibitions will occupy five halls at KLCC and expect to feature over 150 local and international industry speakers. Additionally, it will also display a live showcase of battery energy storage systems and HVAC innovation for smart & green buildings.

During a media preview for the Engineer and Marvex 2026 exhibition, Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) president Yau Chau Fong said in his opening speech that the exhibition reflects the evolution of Malaysia’s engineering industry that responds to the emergence of new technologies.

Currently, the industry has over 260,000 engineers that are registered under the Board of Engineers Malaysia and IEM itself has garnered almost 50,000 members. However, he noted that the number of professionals in the industry does not represent the strength of the industry. Instead he posed a question, “Numbers do not define the strength of our profession. The real question is whether we are ready for what comes next.”

“Engineering is changing quickly. Artificial Intelligence, digital engineering, building information modelling and automation is changing the way we work. Lifelong learning is no longer optional. However, while technology changes, our fundamentals remain strong,” Yau emphasised.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration & Ventilation Association (Macra) president Gan Chok Ser said, “HVAC&R has moved far beyond comfort, it is now essential infrastructure for our data centres and manufacturing facilities, to hospitals, commercial developments and green buildings. Marvex is positioned to grow alongside the industry, serving as a key Asean business platform for the HVAC&R community to discover solutions, forge partnerships and drive future growth.”

The two events are jointly organised by IEM, Macra and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd.
