KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 11): HE Group Bhd (KL:HEGROUP) has accepted a letter of intent to undertake RM47 million worth of electrical works for a data centre in Johor, adding to its growing portfolio of data centre projects.
In a Bursa filing on Tuesday, the electrical engineering services provider said its wholly-owned subsidiary Hexatech Engineering Sdn Bhd had accepted the letter of intent to proceed with the supply and installation of 275kV electrical works for the data centre.
HE Group said the formal contract is expected to be finalised and executed by the third quarter of 2026, and that a further announcement will be made upon its execution.
The latest job follows a RM102 million subcontract secured by Hexatech in June for another data centre project in Johor.
The subcontract covers the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of main electrical works, with completion slated for September 2027.
Following the June contract win, HE Group's order book stood at about RM275 million. HE Group has been expanding its exposure to the data centre segment amid rising investment in digital infrastructure in Malaysia. The group also targets the semiconductor sector and other high-growth
industries where demand for electrical infrastructure remains robust.
Listed on the ACE Market in January 2024, HE Group was transferred to the MAIN Market in November 2025.
At 4.05pm on Tuesday, the shares of the group were up three sen or 4.6% at 69 sen valuing the group at about RM303.6 million.
