KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 11): Bursa Malaysia clarified that Handal Energy Bhd (KL:HANDAL) has not been granted an extension to submit its 2025 annual report and financial statements.
The company faces potential delisting if its annual report remains outstanding for six months after the due date, or in Handal Energy’s case, by Oct 30, the exchange said in a statement.
“We wish to confirm that Handal has neither applied for nor been granted any extension of time by Bursa Malaysia for the submission of its annual report,” the bourse said.
Handal Energy failed to submit the annual report within four months from the close of the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025, prompting a suspension in the trading of its shares since May 11.
Handal Energy has been providing monthly updates on the progress of its annual report submission since end-April, when the company announced it was unable to submit the annual report by the prescribed deadline.
Each monthly update by Handal Energy delayed the expected issuance and submission date of its annual report. The latest update, on Aug 6, noted that the company expects to submit the annual report by Oct 30 — the last day before Bursa Malaysia may begin the delisting process.
Bursa Malaysia said Handal Energy’s announcements on its annual report submission should not be construed as extensions of time granted by Bursa Malaysia, as they are within the provisions under the listing requirements.
“Following the latest announcement, Bursa Malaysia has issued a query to the company on Aug 7, seeking more detailed information on the progress of the audit process and greater clarity on the expected submission date of its annual report, in line with its ongoing oversight of the company’s compliance with the listing requirements,” it added.
