
KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 6): Tong Herr Resources Bhd (KL:TONGHER) on Thursday requested a halt in the trading of its shares to facilitate an announcement.
The suspension is effective from 12.16pm, the company said in an exchange filing without providing further details. Based in Penang, the company manufactures screws and bolts.
Shares of Tong Herr rose nearly 6% to RM1.90 on Thursday before trading was paused. The usually-little traded stock has gained nearly 19% in this week alone, bringing its market capitalisation to RM292 million.
Tong Herr is founded and controlled by executive chairman Tsai Ming Ti, a Taiwanese, and his family who the company public in 1999.
