KUALA LUMPUR (July 31): Duopharma Biotech Bhd (KL:DPHARMA) has secured a six-month extension for its supply contracts with Pharmaniaga Logistics Sdn Bhd under the Ministry of Health's (MOH) approved products purchase list.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday, the pharmaceutical company said its wholly-owned subsidiaries — Duopharma (M) Sdn Bhd (DMSB), Duopharma Manufacturing (Bangi) Sdn Bhd (DMfgB) and Duopharma HAPI Sdn Bhd (DHAPI) — had received notices of extension from Pharmaniaga Logistics for their respective supply agreements.

Pharmaniaga Logistics is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pharmaniaga Bhd (KL:PHARMA). The existing contracts were originally set to expire on Dec 31, 2026.

The extended contract period runs from Jan 1, 2027 to June 30, 2027, or such other date as directed by the government, Duopharma said.

The company said the extension covers the supply of 97 products, compared with 100 products under the original supply agreements.

DMSB will not continue supplying one product, while DMfgB will not continue supplying two products during the extended contract period.

Duopharma did not disclose the value of the contract extension.

Duopharma's substantial shareholders include Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), which holds a 43% stake, and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), which has an indirect interest of 8.86% in the group.

Shares of Duopharma closed unchanged at RM1.22 on Friday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM1.17 billion.
