KUALA LUMPUR (July 30): Singapore Telecommunications Ltd is considering a dual-listing for its data centre arm Nxera at home and in the US, the Business Times reported.
The state-owned company also known as Singtel is also mulling listing a data centre real estate investment trust, the Singapore newspaper reported. Both options remain at exploratory level with no final decision on scale, date, and structure, the Business Times reported.
“So we will see the evaluation, and then we will... come back in due time to make a decision,” Singtel CEO Yuen Kuan Moon was quoted as saying by the Business Times.
By the end of 2026, Nxera’s data centre capacity across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia will more than double to over 200 megawatts (MW) and the business could make more than S$300 million (RM948.6 million) in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation by 2028, Yuen was cited as saying.
Nxera has three data centre campuses in Singapore and the company is building another three, including one in Malaysia under a joint venture with Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TM). The facility in Johor is expected to have more than 200MW of capacity.
