The provider of hyperscale data centre campuses is working with a financial adviser on the planned divestment, said the people, asking not to be identified because the process is private. A transaction could value the Vantage assets in the Southeast Asian nation at more than US$2 billion, the people said.
Considerations are ongoing and Vantage could opt to keep its assets in Malaysia, the people said. Representatives from Vantage and DigitalBridge didn’t respond to requests seeking comment.
In Malaysia, Vantage owns a 31 megawatt data centre campus known as KUL1 in Cyberjaya, where it is also building a second one that will offer 436MW of capacity. In Johor, one of the largest campuses in Southeast Asia, it is developing three data centres with a combined load of more than 300MW.
DigitalBridge is in the process of being acquired by SoftBank Group Corp for about US$3 billion.
