KUALA LUMPUR (July 23): Vinvest Capital Holdings Bhd (KL:VINVEST) has avoided the suspension and delisting of its shares after Bursa Malaysia decided not to take further action against the company, following its appointment of a sponsor.

In a filing on Thursday, Vinvest said Bursa made the decision after considering the company’s circumstances, particularly the appointment of TA Securities Holdings Bhd as its sponsor on July 17 and its written response to a show-cause notice issued by the exchange.

Vinvest had received the notice on July 10 after failing to appoint a sponsor by the July 8 deadline, as required under Rule 8.03A of the ACE Market Listing Requirements.

The company was required to appoint a sponsor within three months of its first announcement on April 8 as part of efforts to regularise its financial condition.

Bursa had given Vinvest five market days, until July 17, to explain why trading of its securities should not be suspended and why the company should not be removed from the official list.

The company appointed TA Securities as its sponsor and submitted its representations to Bursa on the same day.

Vinvest shares closed half a sen higher at 1.5 sen on Thursday, valuing the company at RM15 million.
