KUALA LUMPUR (July 23): Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd (KL:KERJAYA) has secured a RM52.5 million subcontract to undertake civil, structural and basic low-voltage mechanical and electrical (M&E) works for a new 275-kilovolt consumer landing station serving a data centre in the Klang Valley.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the construction outfit said its wholly owned unit Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd accepted the letter of award from an undisclosed customer. The project commenced on Thursday, July 23, and is scheduled for completion by Jan 9, 2027.
The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings over the contract period. As at June 23, 2026, Kerjaya Prospek's outstanding order book stood at RM5 billion.
Kerjaya Prospek is currently valued at 12.8 times trailing earnings, the lowest among its listed construction peers, according to AskEdge data. By comparison, Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA) trades at 24.6 times, followed by Sunway Construction Group Bhd (KL:SUNCON) at 24.9 times and Binastra Corp Bhd (KL:BNASTRA) at 16.1 times.
All nine analysts covering the stock have a 'buy' recommendation, with Bloomberg-compiled target prices ranging from RM2.73 to RM3.46.
Shares of Kerjaya Prospek closed unchanged at RM2.41 on Thursday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM3.05 billion. The stock has declined 11.1% year to date.
